Job Description:

The position supports ongoing studies investigating the impacts of environmental free radical and nutrition on aging using the model organism C. elegans. Responsibilities include laboratory maintenance, preparation of biological samples, data collection and entry, assistance with microbiological and molecular biology experiments.
The project is funded by a Louisiana Board of Regent grant. This position provides post-baccalaureate training in laboratory techniques, scientific record keeping, and research best practices under the supervision of graduate student and the principal investigator.

Duties Include:
50% Laboratory research activities include lifespan assay, molecular and toxicology experiments.

30% Record experimental observations, maintain laboratory notebooks, enter and organize research data, and assist with basic data analysis and preparation of figures or reports.

20% Perform routine laboratory maintenance, including cleaning and sterilizing reagents, following safety protocols, preparing media, buffers, and experimental materials, maintaining C. elegans cultures and bacterial stocks

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences or related.

Specific experience with microbial cultures and working with C. elegans model
