Role Context

To support the Gateway Operations function within the bonded warehouse within the established standards and corresponding KPIs.

Responsible to scan in and scan out of the bonded as per defined procedures and standards.

Responsible for the handling and movement of shipments to their correct location and to ensure a regular/daily bond inventory.

Responsibilities

Inbound Cycle:

a. Assist when necessary for the recovery of I/B materials from Ground Handling Agent

b. Unloading/Loading of consignments for Breakbulk activity

c. Proper scanning of shipments into the bonded warehouse

d. Identification and grouping of pieces under the same HAWB

e. Assist in exception handling of shipments: Damaged, Temperature controlled, etc.

f. Handling/movement of pieces/shipments to their appropriate location in the bond

Shipment Inspection / verification:

a. Ensure that all shipments are properly handled during physical verification by local authorities (Customs, Police, and/or other regulatory bodies).

b. Ensure that the above mentioned shipments are properly recorded/scanned as per DHL standard procedures.

c. Immediate feedback to direct supervisor, Import manager, Gateway manager, Country Operations manager of any anomalies

Shipments release:

a. Ensure that any given shipment is only released/scanned out the bond upon presentation of completed/validated customs documentations

b. Ensure that any given shipment requiring other regulatory bodies clearance are only released/scanned out the bond upon presentation of completed/validated documentations from such authorities (MOH, MOA, ICTA, etc.)

Bond Inventory:

a. Participate and ensure that regular/daily bond inventory is carried out

b. Report any discrepancies/irregularities that may be observed at the end of the inventory process

c. Extract and communicate the "Ageing" reports on a regular/daily basis to Operation management team and other stakeholders

Other associated responsibilities

- Check and submit "Gatepass" for each and every released shipments

- Update Bond ACA systems with appropriate and accurate information in a timely manner, as per DHL standards

- Respond to queries with precise information to other functions, when required

- Keep records and documents pertaining to Bond Operations activities in their corresponding files and/or folders

- Ensure that documents are readily available in case of query from other functions

- Comply with Local authorities regulations and portray DPDHL as a reliable business partner

- Ensure that DPDHL GSOP procedures are adhered to

- Remain compliant at all time to the DPDHL Code of Conduct and Code of Ethics

- Liaise with other departments and/or authorities on specific issue and problem if necessary

- Issues to be raised timeously to the higher level to get the appropriate support and escalate if necessary

- Prepared to work outside office hours and on Public Holidays

- Participate in E-Learning modules and CIS Trainings

Minimum Requirements

Education & experience

School Certificate

Computer Literate

Other acceptable experiences acceptable to the management for this position
