Warehouse Associate

The General Worker is responsible for performing various manual tasks in the warehouse and ensuring that the workspace is clean, organised, and efficient. This role supports warehouse operations by assisting with receiving, storing, packing, and dispatching goods, with a strong emphasis on safety and compliance with NBCRFLI standards.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Warehouse Operations:
Assist in loading and unloading goods from trucks and other vehicles.
Move stock to appropriate storage areas, following the correct handling procedures to avoid damage.
Ensure goods are stored securely and efficiently within the warehouse.
Repair packing cases, cases, crates, or pallets by hand.
Carrying, lifting, pulling, pushing, dragging, packing, unpacking, repacking, stacking, rolling up, shifting, loading, or unloading any goods, containers, packages, or vehicles, wheelbarrows, trolleys, or other hand-operated vehicles, except by using power-driven equipment.
Using manual hand-operated MHE equipment, such as a Pallet jack.
Utilise scanners, verification devices, and handheld devices for accurate data recording and inventory tracking
Inventory Management:
Conduct stock counts as required, ensuring accuracy and reporting any discrepancies.
Assist with the packaging and labelling of goods for dispatch.
Report damaged or missing inventory to supervisors promptly.
Parcelling, wrapping, or tying goods.
Housekeeping and Safety:
Maintain a clean and organised workspace, ensuring all areas are free of hazards.
Cleaning goods, containers, premises, pallets, vehicles, and machinery.
Removing, replacing, or repairing packing cases, crates, and pallets by hand.
Follow all health and safety protocols in the warehouse, including wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) when necessary.
Participate in safety drills and report any unsafe conditions to management.
General Support:
Assist with other tasks, as needed, to support warehouse operations.
Adhere to all NBCRFLI policies, including compliance with labour regulations.
Work collaboratively with team members to ensure smooth day-to-day operations.
Key measures

Safety Awareness: Prioritises safe operation and adheres to safety protocols.
Communication: Effective verbal communication to work with other team members and supervisors.
Physical Stamina: Ability to lift, move, and stack heavy items as part of daily tasks.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Someone with:
Experience: Prior experience in a warehouse or similar environment is preferred.
Physical Capability: Must be able to handle physical tasks such as lifting and carrying heavy items.
Availability: Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, or overtime if required.
Education: High school diploma or equivalent
