Warehouse Associate
At Payzant, our warehouse team is the backbone of our operation. As a Warehouse Material Handler, you play a vital role in ensuring materials are received, organized, and shipped accurately and efficiently. Your work directly supports store operations, customer satisfaction, and overall team success.
This role requires a strong attention to detail, a commitment to safety, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. You will handle building materials and products using proper equipment and procedures, maintain organized inventory, and help ensure orders are fulfilled accurately and on time.
The ideal candidate is dependable, safety-focused, physically capable, and takes pride in contributing to a high-performing team.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Material Handling
- Load and unload materials safely, prioritizing their care and security.
Order Fulfillment
- Pick, pack, and prepare orders for shipment. Ensure that orders are complete, packed correctly, and safely dispatched.
Warehouse Maintenance
- Keep the warehouse environment clean and organized to ensure a safe working area. Follow all company guidelines regarding workspace cleanliness and organization.
- Gain proficiency in the layout of our inventory and equipment for efficient operations.
Inventory Management
- Perform cycle counts and manage inventory accuracy, ensuring timely adjustments and updated inventory records.
Equipment Operation
- Operate a variety of equipment, including forklifts, pallet jacks, and lumber carts, with skill and safety.
- Engage in special projects, effectively managing them alongside core duties.
Team Collaboration
- Work collaboratively with other team members to improve efficiency and overall warehouse performance.
- Support a positive team environment that encourages mutual respect and professionalism.
Health and Safety
- Follow safety procedures when using freight, tools, and equipment; maintain a safe working environment by adhering to safety legislation and promptly reporting any issues.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Strong communication
- Ability to read and comprehend written and printed materials, as well as information presented in numerical form.
- Able to work independently but collaboratively.
- Familiarity or willingness to learn the operation of yard equipment and tools.
- Basic computer skills for inventory and warehouse management software.
- Physically capable of lifting heavy objects and standing for extended periods.
