Job Summary

Reporting to the Supply Chain Manager, this role is to lead and coordinate day-to-day warehouse operations, ensuring the safe, efficient receipt, storage, and dispatch of materials in line with business requirements.

The role is responsible for delivering high standards of inventory accuracy, operational performance, and compliance, whilst promoting a strong safety culture and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Team Leadership & Supervision

  • Supervise and coordinate warehouse associates to ensure operational targets are achieved
  • Allocate daily workload and monitor performance against agreed standards
  • Provide day-to-day guidance, coaching, and support to team members
  • Manage shift planning and resource allocation to meet operational demand
  • Support onboarding and training of new employees and maintain skills capability within the team
  • Promote a positive, professional, and collaborative working environment

Inventory Management & Control

  • Maintain accurate inventory records and stock integrity at all times
  • Oversee goods receipt, storage, picking, packing, and dispatch activities
  • Conduct regular cycle counts and stock audits, investigating and resolving discrepancies
  • Utilise SAP and warehouse management systems to track inventory movement
  • Implement and maintain inventory control processes to minimise losses, shortages, and excess stock
  • Prepare and present inventory updates within weekly global inventory reviews

Warehouse Operations

  • Coordinate daily warehouse activities to ensure efficient workflow and on-time order fulfilment
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams including Sales, Customer Service, Purchasing, Logistics, and Operations
  • Manage dispatch processes, including arranging transport and preparing associated UK and EU shipping documentation
  • Monitor operational KPIs and take corrective action where required
  • Identify and implement improvements to enhance efficiency, reduce cost, and improve service levels

Safety, Quality & Compliance

  • Ensure full compliance with company health and safety policies and procedures
  • Conduct routine safety checks and risk assessments, addressing hazards promptly
  • Maintain accurate records of incidents, near misses, and corrective actions
  • Ensure adherence to company standards, regulatory requirements, and quality procedures
  • Promote and reinforce a proactive safety culture within the warehouse

Equipment & Facilities

  • Monitor the condition and availability of warehouse equipment
  • Arrange maintenance and repairs as required
  • Ensure the warehouse is maintained in a clean, organised, and safe condition
  • Report facility issues and support improvement actions

Reporting & Continuous Improvement

  • Prepare and communicate operational metrics and performance reports
  • Support site and departmental meetings with relevant data and updates
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and support implementation of agreed actions
  • Contribute to broader operational and site objectives

Qualifications & Experience

  • Relevant qualification in Logistics, Supply Chain, or Warehousing (preferred)
  • Demonstrated experience in warehouse operations, logistics, or inventory management
  • Previous experience in a supervisory or team lead role
  • Practical knowledge of SAP or similar warehouse management systems
  • Understanding of inventory control processes and warehouse best practices
  • Knowledge of UK health and safety legislation and compliance requirements
  • Experience in export processes, customs documentation, and liaising with external bodies (e.g. Chamber of Commerce)
  • Valid FLT (Forklift Truck) Licence
  • Electric Pedestrian Truck Licence

  • Operational, warehouse-based role requiring physical activity (standing, walking, lifting, bending)
  • Operation of warehouse equipment including forklifts, pallet trucks, and electric pedestrian equipment (where licensed)
  • Flexibility required to support changing operational needs and shift patterns
