SUMMARY OF ROLE

The Warehouse Operative at JJVC plays a key role in ensuring the efficient, accurate, and safe handling of goods within the warehouse. This position involves receiving, storing, picking, packing, and dispatching materials in line with company procedures and quality standards. The successful candidate will maintain a clean and organised work environment, support continuous improvement initiatives, and uphold health and safety practices at all times.

Working as part of a collaborative warehouse team, the Warehouse Operative will contribute to achieving daily operational targets and maintaining a smooth flow of goods through the site to meet customer and production demands.


PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Health & Safety Compliance

· Adhere strictly to all Health & Safety Rules outlined in Document LPQA 107 while on JJVC premises.

· Wear and maintain all designated PPE for each task, ensuring compliance with monomer, corrugated, and foil handling safety requirements.

· Report any instances of unauthorised access or tampering in storage or monomer areas immediately.


Material Handling

· Safely transport corrugated boxes, cartons, and foil to production lines.

· Ensure correct products are stacked and stored appropriately within designated stations.

· Follow FIFO (First In, First Out) procedures for all materials.


Monomer Dispensing

· Replenish Narafilcon and Senofilcon monomers at scheduled intervals throughout the shift.

· Accurately and hygienically dispense monomer from IBCs into jugs, ensuring correct allocation to respective machines and zero wastage.

· Maintain clean and prepared staging areas for the next shift, ensuring machines are stocked and ready for operation.

· Record all dispensing activity and report any deviations or issues to the supervisor.


Staging Area Management

· Maintain high hygiene and cleanliness standards in all staging areas.

· Report irregularities in product storage or PPE and ensure stock levels in designated fridges are maintained.


Deliveries and Goods Handling

· Assist drivers in unloading trucks at Goods Inwards.

· Transport materials to the de-thrashing area for processing and recycling.

· Ensure correct storage and organisation of materials in the staging area.


Quality Assurance

· Monitor product quality in accordance with ISO9001:2015 and FSC standards.

· Report any quality or safety concerns to your supervisor immediately.

· Comply with JJVC Health & Safety, Quality, and Environmental standards at all times.


General Conduct & Compliance

· Treat all JJVC personnel with respect and professionalism at all times.

· Complete all retraining, tutorials, and communications as requested by JJVC management.

· Follow all company policies and procedures; non-compliance may result in disciplinary action, up to and including dismissal.


SCOPE OF POSITION

This position operates within the JJVC production and warehouse environment, directly supporting the continuous manufacturing process. The role involves working closely with a partner on a rotational shift basis, coordinating material flow, and ensuring efficient supply to production lines. The Warehouse Operative reports directly to the assigned Supervisor and interacts daily with JJVC personnel, drivers, and other team members from Limerick Packaging and Zeus Group.

This position is located in Johnson & Johnson, National Technology Park, Limerick.



PERSON SPECIFICATION


QUALIFICATIONS & PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES

· Previous experience in a warehouse, manufacturing, or logistics environment desirable.

· Knowledge of Health & Safety practices in an industrial setting.

· Training in manual handling, forklift operation, or hazardous material handling (advantageous).

· Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.

· Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

· Reliable, punctual, and self-motivated with a strong work ethic.

· Flexibility to work rotating day and night shifts, weekends, and overtime as required.

· Ability to follow detailed instructions and operate safely in a fast-paced environment.



WORKING PATTERN

· Four-cycle shift rotation including both day and night shifts, operating seven days a week.

· Example pattern:

- Week 1: Four 12-hour day shifts

- Week 2: Three 12-hour day shifts

· Followed by a rotation to night shifts on the same pattern

· Shift start times: 7:30 AM and 7:30 PM (handover at 7:15 AM/PM).

· Daily handover and declaration required at start and end of each shift.

· Overtime may be required to cover holidays or sickness (paid at time and a half).
