Water, Sanitation & Hygiene (WASH) OFFICER

Live & Learn Solomon Islands is seeking a motivated WASH Officer to support the planning, implementation, and monitoring of community‑based WASH interventions that improve access to safe water, sanitation, and hygiene practices.
YOU ARE IDEAL FOR THIS ROLE IF:
- You hold a degree in Environmental Health, Public Health, Environmental Science, or a related field
- You have 1–2 years of experience in WASH programming, preferably in development or emergency contexts
- You have strong community engagement and facilitation skills
- You have practical experience in hygiene promotion, CLTS, water quality testing, or community health initiatives
- You are fluent in Pidgin and English

WHAT WOULD YOU DO ON A DAILY BASIS:
You will support the effective delivery of WASH activities across target communities, working closely with project teams and stakeholders.
Key responsibilities include:
Program Implementation
- Support design and implementation of community WASH activities
- Assist in water safety planning and Community‑Led Total Sanitation (CLTS)
- Deliver hygiene promotion and behaviour change activities
Monitoring and Reporting
- Conduct routine field monitoring and data collection
- Track indicators on water access, sanitation, and hygiene practices
- Prepare progress reports for internal and donor use
Community Engagement & Capacity Building
- Train community volunteers, health workers, and local authorities
- Facilitate awareness sessions on safe water, sanitation, and hygiene
- Ensure WASH interventions are culturally appropriate and inclusive
Budget and Resource Support
- Support activity budgeting and procurement processes
- Ensure donor compliance for all WASH expenditure and documentation
