Water Services Operations Coordinator

Come and make a difference with us

At Western Bay of Plenty District Council, everything we do is about making the everyday better — and helping our communities thrive, now and into the future.

Western Bay is a District undergoing significant growth and transformation. From planning for future communities to delivering the infrastructure that supports them, we’re focused on getting the fundamentals right — and preparing for what comes next.

We’re also focused on our people. At Western Bay, we believe in investing in and empowering our teams to grow, lead, and achieve their goals. Because when our people thrive, our communities do too.

If you're motivated by making the everyday better, helping people thrive, and leaving things better than you found them — we’d love to hear from you.

The opportunity

We’re looking for a Water Services Operations Co‑Ordinator to provide essential operational support to our Water Services teams. This role plays a key part in keeping our operations running smoothly by coordinating training and health and safety records, managing operational documentation, supporting procurement, and helping deliver small operational projects.

You’ll work closely with treatment plant and network teams, contractors, and internal partners to ensure systems, processes, and records are well managed, up to date, and consistent — contributing to safe, reliable water services for our growing district.

To set you up for success, you’ll have

Experience in an administration or operations coordination role, with strong organisational skills and great attention to detail. You’ll be comfortable juggling priorities, working with multiple stakeholders, and using initiative to get things done.

You’ll also bring confident communication skills (strong written skills are critical to the role), solid computer literacy (particularly in Microsoft Office), and a practical, solutions‑focused mindset; along with a commitment to health and safety and continuous improvement.

A tertiary qualification in a relevant field (Certificate, Diploma) is desired but not essential.

If you thrive in a role where your coordination skills make a real difference every day, we’d love to hear from you.
