WFS Solutions Architect: Cloud

Main Purpose<\/b><\/span>
<\/p>

The\nSolution Architect (Cloud) will be responsible for planning, maintaining and\ndesigning cloud solutions. He/she will have to translate business requirements\ninto proposed architectural solutions across business units and business\nprocesses. Responsible for formulating the future cloud state architecture for\na particular initiative and for providing a high level roadmap for the\nimplementation of the cloud solution architecture.<\/span> <\/span>

  • Accountable for the creation of cloud\narchitecture solutions to meet business requirements, in line with the IT\nstrategy and architecture. <\/span>Business\nrequirements to be provided by the business analysis team.<\/span><\/span>
    <\/li>
  • <\/span><\/span><\/span>Collaborate and support the development\nof the cloud strategy and plan.<\/span>
    <\/li>
  • Ensure that the outcomes delivered by\nprojects are consistent with the original cloud solution specified by IT e.g.\nsupports the project manager to resolve technical issues during build.<\/span>
    <\/li>
  • Work with the vendors, business analysts\nand system analysts to design cloud solutions<\/span>
    <\/li>
  • Manage the relationship with our Cloud\nMSP and direction of our cloud strategy.<\/span>

    <\/div>
    • <\/span><\/span><\/span>Provide ad\-hoc consultancy as required to\nsenior business stakeholders on matters relating to cloud solutions.<\/span><\/span>
      <\/li>
    • This will involve provide specific\ncontent knowledge of WFS solution components. <\/span>Although detailed SME input will be provided by vendors the Cloud\nSolution Architect with be required to co\-ordinate this activity.<\/span>
      <\/li>
    • Adding clarity to business requirements;\nchallenging business requirements and demands to ensure high quality candidate\nsolutions are created.<\/span>
      <\/li>
    • Thinking outside of the box to support\nthe business in delivering its strategic objectives rather than just responding\nto a pre\-defined request.<\/span>
      <\/li>
    • Advising on supplier and cost options,\nand ensuring that the validity of the overall solution is fully represented and\nconsidered in any RFI/RFP process, or in the creation and evaluation of proof\nof concept solutions.<\/span>

      Methodology and\nQuality Assurance<\/span><\/u><\/i>
      <\/div>
      • Work with the Architecture Review Board to consult on\nthe quality of the IT business solution and architectural soundness of the\ndesign.<\/span><\/span>
        <\/li>
      • Continuously identify opportunities to improve and\n streamline cloud business solutions<\/span>
        <\/li>
      • Management of the Cloud\nCentre of Excellence with the focus on architecture governance.<\/span>

        Requirements<\/h3>
        • Strong architecture skills\n (TOGAF, UML, Archimate)<\/span><\/span>
          <\/li>
        • Infrastructure\n as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation)<\/span>
          <\/li>
        • Knowledge of one or more\n cloud programming languages available for today\u2019s cloud computing (i.e.,\n SQL data, XML data, R math, Clojure math, Haskell functional, Erlang\n functional, Python procedural, and Go procedural languages)<\/span>
          <\/li>
        • AWS: Control Tower,\n Organizations, Landing Zone, Security Tooling (AWS Securityhub, AWS\n Inspector, AWS Guarduty, AWS Detective, NGFW\u2019s)<\/span>
          <\/li>
        • AWS Identity and Access Management: Candidate needs to\nillustrate his/her understanding of the IAM Policy evaluation logic<\/span>
          <\/li>
        • AWS VPC: Hub and Spoke Design\n with AWS Transit Gateway, AWS Site\-To\-Site VPN, AWS Client VPN, Security\n Groups<\/span>
          <\/li>
        • AWS Resource Access Manager<\/span>
          <\/li>
        • Network routing and DNS management, Route Tables, S2S\nand Direct Connect, etc.<\/span>
          <\/li>
        • Monitoring solutions like\n CloudWatch, CloudTrail, ELK Stack, Prometheus, etc.<\/span>
          <\/li>
        • Strong UML skills<\/span>
          <\/li>
        • Working within both Agile and\n traditional waterfall environments<\/span>
          <\/li>
        • Analysis and design<\/span>
          <\/li>
        • Broad general IT knowledge.<\/span>
          <\/li>
        • Good knowledge of traditional\n infrastructure and shifting toward cloud.<\/span>

          MINIMUM QUALIFICATION<\/span><\/b>

          • Computer Science/Information\n Systems/Mathematics/Engineering degree <\/span><\/span><\/span>
            <\/li>
          • TOGAF certification<\/span>
            <\/li>
          • AWS/Azure certifications beneficial<\/span>

            • 10 years IT experience<\/span><\/span>
              <\/li>
            • 5 Years of solid cloud experience (AWS, Azure, GCP)<\/span>
              <\/li>
            • At least two years as a cloud architect<\/span>
