JOB DESCRIPTION
Summary
Regal Boats is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Wood/Plastic Sub-Assembler to join our production team. This role is responsible for assembling pre-cut or pre-manufactured wood and plastic components used throughout the boat-building process.
The ideal candidate will work on assembling raw materials, putting parts together, performing trim work, and assembling carpentry components that support Regal’s manufacturing flow. This hands-on role requires attention to detail, the ability to follow instructions, and a commitment to producing high-quality components for downstream assembly and final construction.
Key Responsibilities

- Assemble raw materials into wood and plastic components.
- Put parts together as part of sub-assemblies (some companies call this trim).
- Assemble carpentry components and prepare them for downstream departments.
- Use hand tools, pneumatic tools, and assembly fixtures to install fasteners, brackets, supports, and hardware according to specifications.
- Follow detailed work instructions, drawings, and blueprints to ensure accurate assembly.
- Inspect components for accuracy, fit, and finish before and after assembly.
- Label, stage, and organize completed units for delivery to downstream departments.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and workstations to ensure a clean and safe working environment.
- Report material shortages, damaged parts, or documentation discrepancies.
- Work collaboratively with the team to meet daily production schedules and quality standards.
- Follow all safety procedures and wear the required PPE.
- Assist in continuous improvement efforts to enhance assembly efficiency and quality.
Required Qualifications
- Experience using hand tools and basic power tools such as screw guns, drills, staplers, and rivet tools.
- Ability to read a tape measure and basic assembly drawings accurately.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions in English.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Ability to work in a non-climate-controlled environment where temperatures may exceed 100°F.
- Ability to stand, bend, and lift while performing repetitive tasks during a 10-hour shift.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
- Availability to work planned and unplanned overtime as needed to support production schedules.
- Reliable attendance and dependability.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in assembly, woodworking, plastics, or marine manufacturing.
- Familiarity with boat components, sub-assemblies, and trim processes.
- Experience reading production drawings or basic blueprints.
- Knowledge of quality standards and inspection practices.
Work Environment
Must be able to work in a non-climate-controlled environment where ambient air temperature can exceed outside air temperature, reaching over 100 degrees Fahrenheit at times.

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to bend at the waist and knees and stand for extended periods of time. The employee is frequently required to climb into and out of the boats using stairs. The employee must frequently be able to lift 50 pounds, work 10-hour days with most of the time being on their feet, and work overtime, whether planned or unplanned.
