Workday Engineer (Techno-Functional Lead)

You will own and evolve the Workday ecosystem, handling day-to-day HCM operations, configuration, and issue resolution across the employee lifecycle. You will design, build, and maintain integrations with internal and external systems, automate manual processes, and optimise system performance. You will work with HR, Finance, Payroll, IT, and Engineering to gather requirements, test bi-annual releases, document changes, and deploy new features.

Responsibilities

  • Own day-to-day Workday HCM operations, including business processes, reporting, and issue resolution
  • Design build and maintain Workday integrations with internal and external systems
  • Configure and optimise Workday modules to support evolving business needs while maintaining system integrity
  • Identify inefficiencies and drive automation and system improvements to reduce manual processes
  • Partner with HR Finance Payroll IT and Engineering to gather requirements and deliver scalable solutions
  • Support Workday bi-annual releases including testing documentation and deployment of new features

Requirements

  • 3+ years of hands-on Workday experience across configuration and integrations
  • Experience across multiple Workday modules including Core HCM Reporting Advanced Compensation Talent Performance Time Tracking and Learning
  • Strong experience with Workday integrations such as API EIB and Workday Studio or similar tools
  • Comfortable owning both system operations and technical improvements end-to-end
  • Strong problem-solving skills with ability to troubleshoot complex system and data issues independently
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and translate business needs into effective system solutions
