Job Description Summary

This role is part of the Group HR Enablement team, which builds and strengthens enterprise HR capabilities across Process Excellence, HR Technology, Reporting & Analytics, Engagement & Governance, and Operations. These capabilities underpin Prudential’s HR operating model and enable scalable, standardised, and high-value HR solutions across the Group.


The Workday HCM Solution Architect is responsible for leading the solution architecture, design, and optimisation of Workday HCM capabilities across Prudential Group and local business units. The role partners closely with the HR Solution Excellence Lead, Group HR Process Owners, Workday Functional Leads, and Group Technology stakeholders to translate business requirements into robust, scalable, and sustainable Workday solutions.


The successful candidate will bring deep expertise in the Workday HCM landscape, strong solutioning capability across end-to-end HR processes, and credible experience leading HR technology and transformation initiatives in complex, multi-country environments. This role requires both strategic thinking and hands-on delivery leadership to drive business value, adoption, and continuous improvement.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic leadership for the implementation, configuration, and optimisation of Workday HCM Solutions stack, ensuring alignment with business objectives and driving adoption of leading Workday innovations and practices.
  • Workday HCM solution portfolio/ program management Consolidate and shape demand across COEs, LBUs, and HR stakeholders into a coherent portfolio for multi-year HR technology roadmap aligned to business strategy and transformation priorities.
  • Oversee deployment of HR technology programs/ projects from concept through deployment, testing to stabilisation, ensuring alignment with HR transformation priorities and enterprise strategy.
  • Solution Design & Value Realisation Establish and enforce design principles, architecture standards, and solution guardrails across all Workday initiatives. Provide oversight on Workday solution conceptualization to ensure scalability, standardization, and alignment with enterprise architecture.
  • Stakeholder & Ecosystem Management Align stakeholders across HR Leadership, COEs, LBUs, and Group Tech on priorities, timelines, and delivery expectations. Facilitate cross-functional collaboration with stakeholders to address competing demands.
  • Subject Matter Expert across relevant Workday HCM modules with ability to engage in solution design at depth, while not operating as a primary configurator, enabling the team to execute HR Process re-design and transformation.
  • Operational Excellence & Continuous Improvement Drive standardization of delivery methodologies, tools, and reporting. Embed lessons learned into future planning and execution cycles, and implement improvement
  • Advise the HRIS team on delivering high-quality solution deliverables, including design specifications, process flows, mapping documents, test scenarios, and change records to support delivery, audit, and ongoing maintenance.
  • Support solution testing and enablement initiatives by ensuring solutions are validated through appropriate unit, system, integration, and user acceptance testing. Enable stakeholder adoption through training, knowledge transfer, and solution walkthroughs for relevant business and functional teams.
  • Stay current with Workday releases, product enhancements, and industry best practices, and proactively recommend opportunities to improve user experience, process efficiency, and platform value.
  • Build functional and architectural capability within the HR Technology team and partners Mentor team members and promote a culture of Collaboration and Continuous learning, innovation, and delivery excellence across the HR Enablement team.
  • Stay abreast of Industry trends and advancements through Workday releases, features, and best practices, and recommending enhancements aligned to the organization needs


Skills & Requirements

  • Overall 15+ years of experience in leading HR Consulting, Advisory and HR Technology implementation experience or in a similar role.Minimum 10 years of experience as HCM Solution Architect/Lead, managing end-to-end HR Transformation Projects.
  • Deep knowledge of the Workday HCM landscape, with hands-on experience across Core HCM and strategic talent modules such as Performance, Talent & Succession, Learning, Talent Acquisition, and Workforce Planning.
  • Strong understanding of foundational Workday concepts including organisation structures, Job and Skills architecture, Compensation framework, security, etc., which are relevant for strategic HCM business processes.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions and communicating complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audience.
  • Experience working in Agile / Kaizen and continuous improvement delivery environments with exposure to large scale, multi-country transformation programs.
  • Strong collaboration and influencing skills, with the ability to work effectively across geographies, cultures, and cross-functional teams.
  • Demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement, innovation, and learning. Workday certification(s) in relevant modules is preferred.
