Purpose of the role
Senior Analyst will be responsible for financial reporting, statutory audit and tax reporting of SSC and WPP Operating Units (OpCo) and ensure compliance with IFRS, SOX and WPP group policies.This role is required to work closely with various internal stakeholders including WPP OpCo Finance, SSC functional teams, intercompany finance teams and external stakeholders such as auditors, tax agents, vendors and government officers.
What you'll be doing:
Responsibility:
- Carry out period-end closing activities as per the agreed closing calendar -
(1) Work with SSC RTR team to ensure -
- Accurate and timely processing of all general ledger entries, fixed assets, bank and tax transactions
- The management report data are accurately prepared
(2) Ensure that the subledgers are accurately closed by the SSC OTC and PTP teams
(3) Review mismatches in intercompany balances and ensure that they are properly explained/adjusted
(4) Perform balance sheet reconciliation and ensure that any differences or long standing items are properly explained and/or resolved in a timely manner - Review and perform analysis on monthly, quarterly and annual management reports and ensure the financial statements are prepared in accordance with IFRS, SOX, WPP group policies, reporting requirements and relevant legal regulations.
- Work with respective functions on operational matters including but not limited to areas of intercompany, vendor/client master data management, procurement, HR & administration.
- Regularly track and resolve outstanding issues being identified and escalate to relevant parties as necessary.
- Liaise with internal/external stakeholders as and when necessary
- Work closely with WPP OpCo and Team Lead to understand current activities and ensure all changes are reflected in the management accounts.
- Proactively identify, propose and implement continuous process improvement opportunities in existing processes within SSC operations
- Understand and be aware of any update in SOX and internal controls, financial guidelines, company policies, and relevant legal regulations and its impact to the management accounts
- Involvement in ad hoc activities or projects
- Guide and monitor Finance interns in their assigned tasks
What you'll need:
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field, and/or professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACCA, CPA, MIA).
- Minimum 4 years of experience in handling full set of accounts and management reporting
- Prior experience in audit and tax is an added advantage.
- Exposure to MNC environments and consolidated group accounts is beneficial.
- Experience with ERP systems (Added Value)
- Bachelor Degree in Accounting or related field, and/or professional accounting qualification (ACCA/CPA/MIA etc.)
