WSHO cum ECO
Role Overview
We are looking for a highly experienced and dually qualified WSHO cum ECO to lead and implement workplace safety, health, and environmental programmes across our projects. The ideal candidate will work closely with the Project Manager to uphold a safe, healthy, and environmentally compliant work environment for all staff and workers, in full accordance with Singapore's regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Assist the Project Manager in developing, implementing, and maintaining the Safety Management System (SMS) to ensure all staff and workers operate in a safe and healthy environment
Conduct regular site inspections, safety audits, and risk assessments to identify hazards and ensure timely implementation of corrective measures
Investigate workplace incidents, near misses, and accidents, preparing detailed reports with root cause analysis and recommendations for prevention
Develop, review, and update Risk Assessments (RA) and Safe Work Procedures (SWP) for all work activities on site
Plan and conduct toolbox meetings, safety briefings, and WSH training sessions to promote a strong safety culture among workers and site personnel
Ensure full compliance with the WSH Act, relevant WSH Regulations, and MOM requirements at all times
Fulfil the duties and responsibilities of an Environmental Control Officer (ECO) in accordance with NEA requirements and the Environmental Protection and Management Act (EPMA)
Monitor and enforce environmental control measures on site, including noise, dust, water, and air pollution controls
Ensure timely submission of environmental reports and returns to NEA as required
Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Workplace Safety, Health and Environment, or a recognised WSH-related qualification from an accredited institution
Holder of a recognised Workplace Safety & Health Officer (WSHO) Certificate
Must be validly registered with the Ministry of Manpower (MOM) as a WSH Officer
Must be validly registered with the National Environment Agency (NEA) as an Environmental Control Officer (ECO)
Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in workplace safety, health, and environmental management, preferably within the construction industry
In-depth knowledge of Singapore's WSH Act, WSH Regulations, NEA environmental regulations, and relevant codes of practice
Experienced in developing and implementing Safety Management Systems, risk assessments, and safe work procedures
Strong understanding of environmental control requirements and pollution prevention measures applicable to construction sites
