Responsibilities
- This role is full time role at an assigned project
- This role directly reports to the Project In-charge and Project EHS Leader
- Adopt Head Office and IBU EHS Division EHS Management Systems
- Support the development and review for Project specific EHS Plan
- Review existing policies and measures and update according to legislation
- Identify process bottlenecks and offer timely solutions
- Advise and instruct on various EHS-related topics
- Conduct risk assessment and enforce preventative measures
- Initiate and organize EHS training of Project staffs, Sub-contractors, Clients, etc.
- Inspect premises and the work of personnel to identify issues or non-conformity
- Stop any unsafe acts or processes that may have negative EHS related impacts
- Record and investigate EHS incidents and Accidents to determine causes and handle
- Injury compensation claims, submissions of reports to relevant Authorities and Return-to-Work programs
- Prepare reports on occurrences and provide statistical information to Upper management, IBU EHS Division etc.
Requirements and Skills
- Minimum (5) years of experience as WSH officer
- In depth knowledge of local Workplace, Safety, Health (WSH)& Environmental legislation and procedures
- Experience in writing EHS reports, procedures and presentation materials
- Familiarity with conducting data analysis and reporting statistics
- Proficient in MS Office; Working knowledge of safety management information digital systems is a plus
- Ability to be a team collaborator with good interpersonal personality
- Ability to influence stakeholders and leading by example as the EHS custodian
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to present and explain Environmental and WSH topics, conduct trainings when required
- BSc/BA in safety management, relevant field is preferred
- Recognized certifications in WSH and/or Environment
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements
- Able to work in a high-risk construction environment such as Humid / Hot / Dusty / Machineries / Noisy / At heights etc.
- Able to perform daily routine Site inspections /Site audits / Trainings
- Time to time will require performing Climbing on scaffolds /Prolong walking on foot/ Climbing stairs and Standing Supervision when necessary
- To be donned in relevant Personal Protective Equipment throughout the work hours
- May be required to work on irregular hours / shift work /remote locations
- Able to work in Tuas, 5.5 workdays
