Yosemite Station in Merced, California is seeking an experienced and dependable Part-Time Lead Server to support our front-of-house team. This is a lead position, not a management role, designed to help fill coverage gaps when other Lead Servers are off and ensure consistent service standards during each shift.


The Lead Server acts as a point of support on the floor by leading by example, providing excellent guest service, assisting with training and guidance of team members, and communicating effectively with the kitchen and ownership. When scheduled as the lead, responsibilities include opening and closing duties, cash handling, and ensuring proper shift procedures are followed.


This role offers a path to a more permanent Lead Server position based on performance, reliability, and business needs. It is well-suited for someone who enjoys taking initiative, supporting the team, and contributing to smooth restaurant operations without holding management authority.


🕒 Position: Full-Time or Part-Time (Flexible Schedule, Nights & Weekends Required)


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide exceptional service to guests with professionalism and enthusiasm
  • Support and guide servers during shifts to ensure smooth operations
  • Train new front-of-house staff and help maintain performance standards
  • Help maintain smooth service flow by assisting with seating coordination and guest needs
  • Resolve guest issues with professionalism and urgency
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of menus, specials, and restaurant policies
  • Work closely with the owners (management) to ensure consistency in service and team morale
  • Work closely with the back of house for smooth communication

Requirements

  • 4–6 years of serving experience, including at least 1 year in a lead or supervisory role
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to delegate tasks, coach team members, and lead by example
  • Calm under pressure, with excellent multitasking abilities
  • Must be organized, dependable, and guest-focused
  • California Food Handler Card required; RBS certification a plus
  • Must be available evenings, weekends, and holidays
