Qualifications
- Current First Aid/CPR/AED for adults AND Children certification, or ability to obtain
- Ability to work with all ages of all populations in a variety of group sizes
- Excellent people, communication, and organization skills
- Available for the entire camp schedule from June-August
- Available from 7am-5:30pm throughout the camp season
- Must be a UWS student in good academic standing
- Must be UWS Driver Authorized or willing to obtain
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous youth camp/ youth activities experience
- Expertise in a hobby/interest that you are willing to program for children
- Belay Certification from collegiate or commercial climbing facilities
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Create, develop, and lead 2-4 hours of programming per week unique to your qualities and interests
- Communicate camper needs to campers, parents, and other Campus Rec Staff
- Record camper check-in/out statistics and answer parent questions at pick up/drop off
- Assist Lead Youth Camp Counselor in gathering necessary equipment for daily activities
- Display a consistently dedicated, fun, and upbeat attitude to positively contribute to a camp environment
- Address, document, and resolve camper behavioral issues in the moment and ongoing throughout camp
- Track number of campers and always remain mindful of potential hazards for campers
- Communicate climbing wall policy and procedures to staff and participants
- Set up, execute, and review climbing wall practices including belaying and rappelling
- Utilize your community network to incorporate programming with local utilities, businesses, and organizations
- Actively engage in diversity and inclusion programs, training, and events with a commitment to working effectively within your work team, customers, and campus visitors
- Other duties as assigned
TIME COMMITMENT & TRAINING
- Must be willing to work Weekends, Nights, & Events as necessary
- Driver Authorization
- Applicants must be available for all 4 sessions
COMPENSATION
- Level 2 Risk Services $12/hour

- Youth Camp Camp Lead Student
- Recreation Program Manager
