Residential House Manager
Position Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and dependable Residential House Manager to provide leadership, structure, and mentorship within a residential group home serving adolescent males. This position plays a vital role in maintaining a safe, structured, and supportive environment while guiding both residents and staff toward success.
The ideal candidate is a strong communicator, natural mentor, organized leader, and positive role model who can effectively balance youth support, staff oversight, and daily operations.
Schedule
- Full-time position
- 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week
- 6-hour shift on Wednesdays
- Additional flexibility may occasionally be required to meet program needs
Essential Responsibilities
- Maintain daily structure, routines, and behavioral expectations within the home
- Provide leadership and support to residential staff to ensure company policies, procedures, and standards are consistently followed
- Mentor and support residents in areas including academics, employment, appointments, independent living skills, and personal growth
- Assist residents with transportation and coordination of appointments, school needs, employment responsibilities, and community involvement
- Build positive and professional relationships with residents while maintaining appropriate boundaries and accountability
- Monitor the overall functioning and atmosphere of the home to promote safety, stability, and consistency
- Assist with crisis intervention and de-escalation when necessary
- Communicate effectively with administration, staff, schools, agencies, and families as appropriate
- Ensure accurate documentation and timely communication regarding resident progress, incidents, and needs
- Coordinate and assist with resident admissions and transitions when openings occur within the program
- Participate in staff training, meetings, and ongoing professional development
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Experience working with adolescents, behavioral health, residential care, education, social services, or related fields preferred
- Leadership or supervisory experience preferred
- Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record required
- Ability to maintain professionalism in high-stress situations
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
Physical Requirements
This position requires the ability to actively supervise residents in a residential setting, respond quickly in emergency or crisis situations, and safely perform duties that may involve standing, walking, bending, lifting, and assisting with behavioral interventions when necessary.
