Accounting Assistant

About the Role

We are a growing manufacturing SME seeking a responsible and detail-oriented Accounting Assistant to support our day-to-day accounting functions. This role is suitable for candidates with 1–2 years of experience who are keen to build their accounting skills in a hands-on and fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities: -

Accounting & Bookkeeping

  • Prepare Sales/purchase invoices, payment vouchers, and basic journal entries.
  • Maintain accurate accounting records and proper documentation.
  • Provide support for basic costing and data verification.

Bank & Cash Management

  • Assist in monthly bank reconciliations and follow up on discrepancies.
  • Maintain petty cash and company expense records.

Month-End Closing & Reporting

  • Assist in month-end and year-end closing processes.
  • Support preparation of financial schedules and reports.
  • Monitor expenses and assist in highlighting variances.

Audit & Compliance

  • Assist in coordinating with external auditors, tax agents, and accountants.
  • Ensure proper supporting documentation is maintained for audit purposes.
  • Follow company accounting policies and procedures.

Requirements: -

Education & Experience

  • Diploma in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 1–2 years of relevant accounting experience.

Skills & Competencies

  • Basic knowledge of accounting and bookkeeping principles.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting systems.
  • Detail-oriented with good organizational skills.
  • Willingness to learn and take on responsibilities.
  • Team player with a positive attitude.
