Advanced Manufacturing Engineer
Responsible for innovating precision assembly and measurement processes, and driving continuous improvement in equipment yield, efficiency, and speed. Key stakeholder in design-for-manufacturing, process development, and assembly tolerance analysis. This work directly impacts the design, cost and quality of new, technically complex opto-electronics modules.
Minimum Qualifications
1+ years of experience in precision assembly, inspection and automation equipment design and qualification
Ability to travel approximately 30-35%
BSME or equivalent
Preferred Qualifications
3 + years in an engineering role with experience in precision assembly, inspection and automation equipment
Required to understand and build tolerance analysis for parts and assemblies
Knowledgeable in crafting machine qualification requirements, design of experiments and failure analysis
Understands machine qualification including calibration, correlation, capability, repeatability and reproducibility
Able to communicate effectively in a worldwide environment
New product introduction and Manufacturing Operations experience desired
Proven track record of cost reduction, project management and engineering design required
Working knowledge of GD&T principles favorable
NX, SolidWorks CAD or ProE experiences a plus
Knowledge of optics principles as they relate to CCD cameras, 2D and 1D lasers, and their use for positioning and critical alignment machines
Working knowledge of robotics (6-axis and/or SCARA), pneumatics, servo motors, motion controllers, PLC and and PC-based control systems
JMP, Minitab & Six Sigma experience preferred
