AIRCRAFT MECHANIC
This job opportunity is for an AIRCRAFT MECHANIC, position description D0483000, within the AASF of the NJNG. This vacancy announcement is a Title 32, Excepted Service position. The primary purpose of the position is responsibility for the performance of the full range of aircraft maintenance duties including troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, repair, and ground testing of assemblies, system, and surfaces for one or more types of military aircraft, fixed and rotary wing.
As an AIRCRAFT MECHANIC, WG-8852-10, you will: Participate in various types of readiness evaluations Perform inspection, functional checks, and preventive maintenance on aircraft Troubleshoot and perform unscheduled maintenance on assigned aircraft utilizing various testing equipment Observe and ensure compliance with standard procedures and applicable technical publications May be required to perform such additional duties as fire fighting, aircraft crash/rescue, snow removal, etc. Provide data for aircraft maintenance historical records, maintenance data, collection, and man-hour accounting\ Perform other duties as assigned.
Compatible military grade and assignment required prior to the effective date of placement. This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard.
