AME Automation Leader NPDI
AME Automation Leader – EMEA is the regional technical leader responsible for defining, deploying, and continuously improving automation solutions across Vertiv’s manufacturing and test operations. This role ensures that automation directly enhances safety, quality, throughput, and cost efficiency for products such as UPS, switchgear & busbar systems, thermal management and Modular data center infrastructure.
- Automation Leadership for Vertiv Operations in EMEA region
- Serve as EMEA subject-matter expert for automation related to power electronics manufacturing, thermal systems assembly, and end-of-line testing.
- Define and maintain EMEA regional automation standards production and test automation, robotics, vision systems, and industrial networks, aligned with Vertiv global standards, tools, strategies.
- Lead technical decisions for automation platforms in EMEA region
- Manufacturing & Test Automation
- Design & implement automation solutions
- Sub-Assembly, Assembly, Testing of Vertiv products
- Automated test data acquisition, reporting, and traceability
- Material handling and robotic assembly for Vertiv products
- Ensure automation systems support product quality, compliance, and full test traceability.
- Design & implement automation solutions
- Project Execution & Delivery
- Lead automation projects from concept, specification through design, FAT, SAT, commissioning, and production handover.
- Support greenfield factories, brownfield upgrades, capacity expansions, and new product introductions (NPI) across EMEA.
- Factory Digitization & Industry 4.0
- Drive &Support implementation of MES integration, test data historians, IoT connectivity, and digital production dashboards.
- Enable real-time visibility of test results, energy consumption, equipment status, and OEE.
- Operations Support & Continuous Improvement
- Partner with Operations, Quality, R&D, and Supply Chain to improve yield, cycle time, and equipment availability.
- Lead root-cause analysis of complex automation and test failures related to Vertiv production
- Apply Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and data-driven methodologies to automation improvements.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Automation Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field
- 8+ years total manufacturing experience
- PC working knowledge (MS Office, PDM system, CADD)
- Deep technical credibility in production automation and test systems.
- MES, IIoT, AI Tools, smart factory implementation experience.
- Robotics, motion control, and vision systems for assembly and handling.
- Functional safety systems, safety PLCs, and compliance documentation.
- Facility or Production Line Layout development (using AutoCad or equivalent)
- Knowledge of assembly and fabrication processes
- Knowledge of Design tools, methods, and new technologies
- Strong communication skills to effectively communicate at all levels of the organization
- Lean Six Sigma Green (Black Belt advantage)
- Preferred: Experience compiling and submitting Capital Appropriation Requests (CAR’s)
The anticipated salary range for this role in the Nové Mesto nad Váhom locality is between 33 739€ to 42 174€ gross per year —salary ranges for other geographic localities may vary. Certain roles are eligible for additional rewards, including merit increases, annual bonus and stock. These awards are allocated based on individual performance and are role based. In addition, certain roles also have the opportunity to earn sales incentives based on revenue or utilization, depending on the terms of the plan and the employee’s role. Compensation ranges are determined based on objective, gender-neutral criteria including skills, experience, and job responsibilities. In addition to the salary listed above, a detailed overview of additional compensation, including bonuses and benefits, will be provided during the initial interview.
