Job Description:
Jain Global is a global multi-strategy hedge fund founded in 2024, with offices in New York, Houston, London, Hong Kong, and Singapore. We operate across seven business lines: Macro, Fundamental Equities, Equity Arbitrage, Systematic, Credit, Commodities, and APAC. The APAC business line functions as a regional multi-strategy platform that deploys the other six strategies across the Asia-Pacific region. Our teams combine rigorous research with disciplined risk management to capture opportunities across asset classes and market regimes.
Role Overview
We are seeking a Quantitative Analyst to support investment decision-making for the APAC commodities team by developing and maintaining quantitative frameworks and models to analyse market dynamics, fundamental supply-demand drivers, and risk exposures. This role is suited for individuals with exceptional mathematical and analytical ability who can apply rigorous, structured thinking to complex market problems.
This position is offered as a 3–6 month full-time internship, with the potential for conversion to a full-time role based on performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain quantitative models for base and precious metals markets
- Build research tools and dashboards to support investment decisions
- Conduct statistical analysis and back testing of investment hypotheses
- Present findings to the Portfolio Manager and other stakeholders
Background & Qualifications
- Currently pursuing (or recently completed) a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in: Quantitative Finance, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Physics, Engineering, or similarly rigorous analytical fields
- Strong programming ability in one or more of the following: Python, C++, Java, etc.
- Evidence of exceptional analytical ability, demonstrated through academic achievement, quantitative competitions, research projects, or other rigorous analytical work.
- Experience in quantitative analysis, commodities trading, or investment analysis is preferred, though candidates with adjacent backgrounds and outstanding analytical skills will also be considered.
