Job Summary

Join a dynamic Japanese M&A consulting firm as an associate responsible for sourcing and engaging strategic buyers, primarily in the Japanese market, to support business growth and transaction success.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze buyside mandates to understand business models, financials, industry positioning, and organizational structures
  • Define ideal buyer profiles by evaluating suitability criteria aligned with client objectives
  • Independently research and build a pipeline of potential buyer companies for targeted outreach
  • Identify strategic fit, synergy potential, and acquisition rationale to prioritize buyer engagement
  • Develop buyer pipelines through consistent outreach and communication with prospective buyers
  • Facilitate introductions and arrange meetings between clients and potential buyers
  • Attend joint meetings to support buyer visits and foster relationship building
  • Support buyer engagement throughout the transaction process to ensure smooth communication and progress

Required competencies and certifications

  • Diploma or Polytechnic qualification or above
  • Customer service experience
  • Ability to speak and communicate in Japanese to liaise with Japanese-speaking clients and stakeholders (required to facilitate effective communication with Japanese clients and stakeholders)
