Associate Pastor
OVERVIEW
An Associate Pastor provides spiritual leadership, pastoral care, and administrative support to assist the Lead Pastor in fulfilling the church's mission.
Key responsibilities include
- preaching, teaching, discipleship, managing ministries (such as community groups),
- counseling, and fostering community. This role requires strong communication, team-
- building skills, and alignment with the church’s vision.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
• Pastoral Care & Counseling: Offering spiritual guidance, hospital visits, counseling to members, and officiating weddings/funerals.
• Teaching & Preaching: Sharing in the preaching schedule, leading Bible studies, and developing teaching curricula.
• Ministry Oversight: Managing, recruiting, and training volunteers for specific ministries (e.g., youth, family, or community groups).
• Leadership Support: Assisting the senior pastor with vision casting, strategic planning, and attending staff/board meetings.
• Community Outreach: Developing programs to engage the local community and organizing evangelistic events.
QUALIFICATIONS
• Spiritual Maturity: A deep personal commitment to Jesus Christ and alignment with the church's theological stance.
• Education: A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Theology or related field is often preferred.
• Experience: Previous experience in pastoral ministry, leadership, or staff management.
• Skills: Strong preaching, counseling, and interpersonal communication skills.
