Job Summary
As an Assistant Service Engineer, you will maintain, test, and commission mechanical, electrical, and mechatronic equipment, ensuring smooth project execution and effective customer communication across Southeast Asia.
Responsibilities
- Conduct maintenance and routine inspection of equipment including pumps and processing machines to ensure operational reliability
- Perform testing and commissioning of new equipment at factory and customer sites to validate functionality
- Create and organize detailed service reports for customers to document maintenance and service activities
- Communicate effectively with customers and internal support teams to resolve issues and provide status updates
- Manage assigned projects from order receipt to customer handover, ensuring timely and smooth execution
- Perform basic repair and troubleshooting on equipment and associated control systems to minimize downtime
- Apply knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic systems to support maintenance and repair tasks
- Maintain good housekeeping practices and demonstrate initiative in troubleshooting equipment issues
- Support system commissioning and qualification activities including SAT, IQ, and OQ to meet compliance standards
- Ensure proper documentation of all project-related activities and technical information
- Collaborate closely with customers to understand and meet their technical requirements
Required competencies and certifications
- Valid Driving License 2B & 3 (essential for travel and site visits)
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings for accurate maintenance and commissioning
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications for reporting and documentation
- Good command of English and Mandarin, both written and spoken, to communicate with overseas customers and support teams
Preferred competencies and qualifications
- ITE or Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent qualification
- 2 to 3 years of relevant experience in mechanical, electrical, or mechatronics service engineering
- Willingness to travel within the Southeast Asia region for project and service assignments
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with customers and colleagues
- Self-motivated, energetic, and able to work independently with initiative
