As Anchor’s first full-time audio engineering hire, you’ll play a critical role in helping us define the future of audio. We firmly believe that there is endless innovation just waiting to happen in the audio space. You’ll get to work alongside a cross-functional team of engineering, product, content, and community team members. This is a unique opportunity to be one of the very first hires for a consumer-facing and product-driven company that’s backed by some of the best investors in Silicon Valley and NY. This is a full-time role based in New York City.

Responsibilities may include things like:
- Building cross-platform libraries for audio post-processing or real time audio filters
- Writing highly-efficient low level code to enhance audio
- Developing processes and algorithms for:
- Speech automation
- Speech recognition
- Audio categorization
- Audio analysis
- Writing automated tests to ensure the stability of the platform’s audio components
- Seeing large, often complex projects through from conception to launch
- Keeping code maintainable through extensive documentation
Requirements:
- A sense of humor
- 3+ years experience working with audio software engineering
- Strong understanding of the theory and application of digital signal processing
- Advanced technical degree (MS, PhD) in a related field (computer science, electrical engineering, etc.), completed or in progress
- Lots of experience working with C and/or C++ (and a working knowledge of Javascript)
- Bonus points for experience with natural language processing or speech analysis
- Exceptional communication (both spoken and written)
- Persistent/determined work ethic and a willingness to try anything and everything
