Your purpose will be: The Bar-Back will provide prompt, courteous and efficient food and beverage service in a luxury 5-star brand inspired hotel bar/lounge where attention to detail is key
You will be accountable for:
- Carry out specific tasks for Bar Back to ensure smooth running of the bar.
- To attend to all guest requests, being constantly aware of anticipating guest’s needs and to remain in the restaurant at all times during service.
- To produce drinks orders accurately and in timely fashion meeting service essentials timings.
- Help to ensure the smooth running of all guests requirements and needs on each table.
- To provide assistance to in all areas of the restaurants
- To attend to all guest requests, being constantly aware of anticipating guests’ needs and to remain in the restaurant at all times during service.
- To effectively manage your time and productivity whilst at work.
- To ensure a clean stocked bar for a smooth running of the bar areas.
- To ensure a clean fridges for a smooth running service.
- To prepare appropriate mise-en-place, glasses, garnishes.
- To clean and vacuum in and around the restaurant areas as required and directed by the manager on duty.
- To keep a high Standard of personal hygiene and appearance.
- To approach the guest in the correct manner as laid out by Fairmont Standards.
- To use the guests name whenever possible, in accordance with Fairmont Standards.
- To have full knowledge of the food and drinks menu, to be able to explain and recommend and sell dishes to our guest.
- To follow and complete any instructions given to you by your Managers.
- To attend briefings and departmental meetings.
- To speak English at all times within the Savoy Hotel.
- To have good Micros skills and follow correctly the Micros billing system.
What you will need to do this role:
- 1-3 years’ experience in the Hospitality Industry.
- Outstanding communication skills, both written & verbal.
- Proven organizational skills, works well on their own. Able to set and meet deadlines with quality results.
