JOB DESCRIPTION

Barista prepares and serves hot and cold beverages, including various types of coffee and tea, and provide an excellent cafe experience for customers. Receives and process payments (cash and credit cards).

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Welcoming customers, informing them about specials or new items, answering questions, and accepting orders and payments.
• Preparing foods, such as sandwiches or baked goods, and grinding and blending coffee beans, brewing coffee and tea, and serving items to customers.
• Packaging food and beverages for sale.
• Cleaning and restocking work area, emptying trash and sanitizing equipment and utensils.
• Updating signage and displays to attract customers.
• Tracking and ordering inventory for café and beverage supplies, such as coffee beans, milk, napkins, and cups.
• Replenishing items in display cases, and behind the counter.
• Maintaining espresso machines, grinders, coffee machines and other equipment.
• Keeping work environment and café area clean, sanitary, and organized
• Working as part of a fun, high-energy team.
• Adhering to all food safety regulations and quality controls.

QUALIFICATIONS

High School Diploma or equivalent

FIELD(S) OF STUDY:

Hospitality, Tourism, Food and Beverage

EXPERIENCE

• Customer service and restaurant experience
• Previous work as a Barista is a plus.
• Point of sale equipment (POS)
