Business Development Manager - Johor Bahru

What You Can Expect:

  • Identify and develop new business opportunities across key market verticals in Johor and the Southern Region, focusing on industries with strong trade and logistics potential.
  • Drive new customer acquisition and consistently achieve or exceed assigned annual sales and revenue targets.
  • Strengthen and expand cross-border trade lanes, particularly with Singapore and Southeast Asia, through close collaboration with Rhenus offices and global partners.
  • Manage the end-to-end sales cycle – from lead generation, client engagement, solution presentation, pricing, and negotiation to closing deals and after-sales follow-up.
  • Utilize CRM tools effectively for pipeline management, forecasting, and sales reporting.
  • Deliver impactful sales presentations, proposals, and tender responses that highlight Rhenus’ integrated logistics and supply chain capabilities.
  • Build and maintain long-term relationships with key customers to ensure satisfaction, retention, and continued account growth.
  • Stay updated on regional market trends, competitor activities, and trade developments relevant to Johor’s logistics landscape.

What You Bring:

  • Diploma or Degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related discipline (or equivalent work experience).
  • Proven experience in sales and business development within Malaysia, ideally in freight forwarding, logistics, or transportation services.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience, with a strong understanding of cross-border logistics operations between Johor and Singapore.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills in both English and Bahasa Malaysia. Mandarin proficiency is an advantage.
  • Strong proficiency in CRM systems for managing customer data, tracking sales performance, and reporting.
  • A self-driven, results-oriented professional with a proactive attitude and the ability to work independently.
  • Team-oriented mindset with a focus on collaboration, customer satisfaction, and sustainable growth.
  • Familiarity with Johor’s industrial zones (e.g., Pasir Gudang, Tanjung Pelepas, Senai) and local business networks is highly desirable.
