CAD Technician - Structures

WSP is currently seeking a CAD Technician - Structures for AU Mining infrastructure, who shall be responsible for the creation and editing of drawings in compliance with WSP CAD Standards and detailing practices as well as producing high quality output using Autodesk Advance steel software. The position is for BENGALURU/MUMBAI/NOIDA location.

• This role is for a CAD Technician – Structures to contribute on mining Infrastructure projects, deliverables in compliance with WSP CAD standards.

• Responsible for preparation of drawings including conceptual sketches and detailed construction drawings for structure using Autodesk Advance Steel software or Bentley MicroStation with quality and accuracy.

• Prepare structural drawings that involve piling layouts and schedules, structural concrete drawings with rebar details, structural steel drawings, Fabrication drawings and building architectural drawings based on engineering instructions, government and regulatory codes.

• Develop 3D models and extract 2D drawings from 3D models.

• Must complete a high-quality self-check on own work with efficiency & He/she should follow internal QC process to deliver high standards project documents.

• Perform review of engineering drawings, as per markups made by the Checkers. Verify to ensure drawing modifications are accurately and correctly carried out.

• Reporting progress of work assignments, including risks or concerns, to line manager. Understands the project schedule.

• Communicate with internal peers and project team and may be required to answer questions regarding deliverables.

• Revit Structural modeling would be an asset (Revit Architectural modelling occasionally).

• Autodesk vault or Bentley ProjectWise experience would be an asset.

• Responsible for CAD tasks as directed by the CAD Manager and Engineer.

• Responsible for preparing Material and Quantity take off.

• Actively participate in the design and provide input to the design team throughout the design process.

• Conduct audits of adherence to WSP Management and Quality processes and implement corrective measures where required.

• Ensure that Health & Safety is embedded into all work practices in line with company policies.

• Develop expertise and stay up to date of developments in Drafting skills.

• Support the company’s approach to sustainability.

• Coordinate with a multi-disciplinary project team.

• Be willing to learn and be polyvalent.

• Identify improvements (where possible) to enhance WSP service to clients. Complete accurate timesheets by setting deadlines.

• I should have 5-8 years’ experience.

• Should have diploma or Degree in Civil/structure or relevant field.

• Preference will be given to candidates with minimum 5 year of experience in a consulting firm in complementary industries like oil & gas, Power, Mining using Autodesk or Bently software.

• Experience with projects in Australia, New Zealand would be an advantage.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, in English.

• Experience with Autodesk software such as AutoCAD, Advance Steel, Revit, Navisworks, Vault, BIM 360 or Bentley MicroStation and ProjectWise.
