Clinical Laboratory Scientist

About the Position: This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. THIS POSITION IS ANNOUNCED AS A STANDING REGISTER (OPEN CONTINUOUS ANNOUNCEMENT): First cut off date to evaluate candidates will be 24 November 2025 at 11:59 PM with subsequent cut off dates on the end of the month. Announcement will be opened for 90 days (22 January 2026).

Perform, evaluate, and monitor the performance of routine and specialized test procedures using manual and/or instrumental techniques in accordance with established protocols.

Determine suitability of specimen for analysis, requesting new specimen if determined to be unusable or in insufficient quantity to complete the laboratory studies.

Identify unusual and/or discrepant values and initiate appropriate follow-up procedures to verify results.

Operate and perform preventive maintenance and minor troubleshooting on instrumentation.

Verify correct instrument operation using established procedures and quality control checks.
