The Global Ad Technology Department (GATD) manages the whole of the advertising systems that power Rakuten. We are a cross-functional and data-driven organization working together in a diverse team spread across five countries: Japan, Singapore, India, China and UK.

In the platform team, we have positions who have comprehensive knowledge of the platforms and provide total solution for business requirement by combining of multiple platform components. 

We're looking for a Customer Success Manager who supports internal marketing team and ad product development Team in digital advertising area from technology perspective. You will be responsible for planning solution for essential issue of our clients, sales team and product teams, while also having both a technical and business perspective, and working with the development teams to drive projects forward. You will also drive technical collaboration between teams across multiple countries, organizations and functions.

Responsibilities:

  • Analyze and identify essential business issues for customers and sales/product teams, and provide the right solutions.

  • Understand business requirements, goals and KPIs and collaborate with multiple technical teams inside and outside Rakuten to deliver solutions to meet business requirements.

  • Support the implementation of realized business solutions.

  • Work closely with multiple stakeholders on the business side with different knowledge and backgrounds to identify the functional requirements for the marketing platform.

  • Investigate the cutting-edge ad technology, industry trends and volatile business environment to support business requirements.

  • Partner with a program manager and delivery managers in prioritization and planning for solution development by flexibly responding to the constantly evolving business environment, social conditions, and competitive landscape.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional, cross-organizational and cross-border teams to integrate with internal and external systems, platforms, and services.

  • Drive or participate in technology vendor discussions, evaluations, and selections.

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of experience in developing, planning or definition of system requirements related systems for digital advertising while communicating directly with clients or business side stakeholders.

  • Experience in web (or App) application development (Programming, System design).

  • Ability to build good relationships with internal and external stakeholder.

  • Experience in project planning and execution.

  • Strong get-things-done mind with a sense of ownership.

  • Strong analytical and quantitative problem-solving ability.

  • *e.g. A person with data extraction skills using BigQuery who can contribute to data analysis for solving business problems.

  • 5+ years of experience in IT industry including system development or product planning/Sales experience.

  • Able to converse in both English and Japanese as you will be working with stakeholders based in Japan
