Dental Hygienist

About the Position: This position is located at Naval Medical Center Portsmouth, Virginia Directorate Branch Clinic/Naval Station Norfolk, General Dentistry. This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.

Review radiographs and conducting a thorough examination of each patient's teeth and oral tissues.

Review and consult with dentist on individual patient based on the Periodontal Screening and Plaque Index examination.

Ensure instruments are maintained in aseptic condition.

Coordinate all aspects of the DDS Directorate's Health Promotions Program (HPP).

Provide health promotion in the community.

Coordinate general health awareness efforts among eligible beneficiaries and staff.
