Dental Hygienist

About the Position: This position is located at Lyster Army Health Clinic, Fort Rucker, AL. Serves as a Dental Hygienist responsible for performing advanced prophylactic and preventive procedures in the treatment of patients related medical and dental problems. Completes preliminary dental examinations on new dental service patients. Office hours are Monday-Friday 0730-1615. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation. A recruitment incentive may be authorized.

Complete preliminary dental examinations on new dental service patients.

Examine the teeth and surrounding tissues for evidences of plaque and periodontal disease and charts findings.

Perform postoperative care and provides oral hygiene instruction.

Explain to patients the causes of periodontal disease and tooth decay.

Inspect the mouth and throat for evidence of disease such as oral cancer.

Perform various advanced and specialized oral prophylactic and preventive dental hygiene procedures.
