Dental Sterilization Technician

About the Position:This position is located at Bassett Army Community Hospital in Fort Wainwright, Alaska. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation Federal employees in Alaska are currently entitled to receive a 1.49% Cost of Living Allowance (COLA) in addition to the base salary. This is subject to change.

Receive, disassemble, and inspect dental supplies, instruments and equipment.

Determine appropriate method for sterilizing dental equipment.

Conduct periodic inventory of supplies, instruments and equipment.

Provide training and orientation to less experienced staff on dental sterilization techniques and procedures.

Test operation of equipment daily for effectiveness of sterilization using various monitoring systems.

Prepare and assemble surgical trays with instruments and materials for dental procedures.

Maintain records of sterilization processes in accordance with established policy.

Assist dentist with chairside treatment to patients, monitoring for signs of shock or other reactions.
