Duty Manager
Responsibilities
- To act on behalf of management to monitor daily operations, tackle problems when they arise and to ensure the hotel is functioning smoothly at all times
- To be accountable for handling guests’ complaints, comments and suggestions tactfully
- To have knowledge of operations in each and every department and coordinate operations among them
- To conduct daily hotel inspections to ensure everything is in proper order and all staff is performing their duties in compliance with the hotel policies and procedures
- To be accountable for extending our hotel courtesy to all guests, particularly VIPs and ensure they receive proper attention at all times
- To be acquainted with daily house functions, room occupancy and other relevant information for better handling of guest flow
- To be responsible for assisting the check-in and escorting VIP guests to the hotel rooms
- To be responsible for see off the VIP guests upon checking out
- To conduct room inspections and pay special attention to those rooms allocated for VIPs and Special Attention Guests to ensure the hotel standards being maintained at all times
- To report to management regarding incidents happening in the hotel by recording the details, including actions taken and results in the Duty Manager’s Log Book
- To be accountable for coping with all emergencies, and referring them to Senior Management for immediate action if necessary
- To carry out any other tasks as assigned by the Supervisor
- To authorize rebate and paid out when necessary
- To show rooms, food and beverage outlets and other hotel facilities to potential clients upon request
Requirements
- Diploma holder or above in Hospitality Management or related disciplines
- Minimum 5 years’ relevant work experience with 3 years at supervisory level
- Outgoing personality with strong interpersonal and decision-making skills
- Excellent command of both spoken and written English, Cantonese and Mandarin
