Education Officer (Raffles Place/City Hall)
Contract Duration: 1 Year
Working Hours : Mondays to Fridays (office hours)
Salary: $2500-2900/Month
General Summary
To assist and support the Education Division in the execution of educational programmes, and contribute to content development for the museum’s public programmes. The incumbent reports to the Senior Manager/ Manager of the Education team within the Division.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Educational Programme
1. Work closely in a team of two, to manage school visits to the museum's signature programme, Museum-based Learning: Asian Adventures for Primary 6.
2. Keep track and handle school bookings via BookMuseums booking portal, emails, and phone calls, etc.
3. Answer email and phone enquiries from schools.
4. Welcome school groups to the museums, conduct mass briefings to large groups, and undertake crowd control measures during peak periods or when there are a few school groups in the museum.
5. Prepare and co-ordinate logistics, security services, and learning resources required.
6. Monitor, stock take and procure MBL resources.
7. Update programme SOP and guidelines when required.
8. Collate and track the relevant monthly statistics/KPIs.
Secondary Duties and Responsibilities
School Workshops, Programmes and Exhibitions
1. Co-ordinate logistics / equipment list for all workshops and programmes.
2. Assist in the coordination and the running of the workshops or programmes – both onsite and online.
3. Work with the Education Managers in research and content development in the following domains – Early Childhood Programmes, Education Programmes, Access Programmes.
4. Handle the dissemination and distribution of marketing materials like school brochures, newsletter, resource kits etc.
5. Assist in maintaining exhibition interpretive spaces.
6. Handle ad-hoc duties as assigned by the incumbent’s supervisor.
May be required to work on weekend occasionally for programmes/school visits.
Minimum Education Level: Diploma or Degree is preferred
Field of study: Arts management, education, art, history, or museum/gallery-related is preferred.
Skillset:
- Able to manage large student groups up to 120pax per session.
- Able to give mass briefing in a clear, firm and professional manner.
- Able to work well in and adapt to a fast-paced environment and remain calm in unpredictable situations.
- Able to work well in a team of two/small team.
- Professional communication and good email writing skills as the incumbent will be handling large volume of email correspondences with teachers, stakeholders and vendors.
- Organised and careful with details.
- Microsoft Teams, Microsoft Office (especially with using excel), Outlook email, online booking portals.
