Job Description
We are looking for an experienced Equipment Engineer with strong knowledge in Machine Vision Systems and Measurement System Analysis (MSA) to support high-volume manufacturing operations. The role focuses on equipment stability, inspection accuracy, process capability, and continuous improvement initiatives to ensure product quality and manufacturing efficiency.
The candidate must possess strong troubleshooting capability, analytical thinking, and hands-on experience with automated inspection systems, calibration, and measurement validation in a semiconductor or advanced manufacturing environment.
What you will do
- Support and sustain production equipment with focus on vision inspection systems and measurement reliability
- Develop, optimize, and maintain machine vision recipes, lighting setup, camera alignment, and inspection parameters
- Perform MSA including GR&R, bias, linearity, and stability studies
- Analyze equipment and process data to identify root causes and drive corrective actions
- Lead equipment troubleshooting activities to minimize downtime and improve OEE performance
- Work closely with Process, Quality, Production, and Equipment teams on yield and quality improvement projects
- Establish preventive and predictive maintenance strategies for vision-related hardware and sensors
- Drive continuous improvement projects related to false call reduction, defect detection accuracy, and equipment robustness
- Validate equipment performance after conversion, upgrade, or major maintenance activity
- Prepare technical documentation including SOP, OCAP, PM checklist, and engineering reports
- Support new equipment qualification, setup, and buyoff activities
What you need to have
- Minimum 5 years of working experience in equipment engineering within semiconductor or automated manufacturing industry
- Strong knowledge of MSA, SPC, and statistical tools
- Hands-on experience with machine vision systems such as Cohu, Pentamaster, ASM, Nortech, Youngsoul or equivalent
- Strong knowledge with camera systems, optics, lighting control, sensors, b and image processing concepts
- Strong knowledge in troubleshooting PLC, Vision industrial communication, and automation systems is an advantage
- Good understanding of TPM, FMEA, 8D, and root cause analysis methodologies
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Able to work independently in fast-paced manufacturing environment
Preferred Skills
- Experience with AOI, AVI, laser marking inspection, or automated inspection equipment
- Knowledge in Spotfire, Python, SQL, or data analytics tools
- Familiar with SECS/GEM, RS232, Ethernet/IP, or factory automation integration
- Experience in equipment improvement projects and cost reduction initiatives
