Position Overview:
The Event & Marketing Manager is responsible for planning, organising, and executing marketing campaigns and events that promote the travel agency's products and services, enhance brand visibility, generate leads, and support sales growth. The role combines strategic marketing, event management, partnership development, and customer engagement to strengthen the company's market presence.
Marketing Strategy & Planning
- Develop and implement comprehensive marketing strategies aligned with business objectives.
- Manage the company's brand image and ensure consistent messaging across all marketing channels.
- Create and execute integrated marketing campaigns to promote travel packages, tours, cruises, and destination offerings.
- Monitor market trends, customer preferences, and competitor activities to identify growth opportunities.
- Manage marketing budgets and ensure cost-effective use of resources.
Event Planning & Management
- Plan, coordinate, and execute travel fairs, roadshows, travel talks events, product launches, seminars, webinars, and promotional activities.
- Manage event budgets, timelines, logistics, vendor negotiations, and sponsorship arrangements.
- Liaise with hotels, airlines, tourism boards, cruise lines, and other partners to organise successful events.
- Ensure smooth event operations and deliver exceptional attendee experiences.
- Evaluate event outcomes and prepare post-event reports with recommendations for improvement.
Team Leadership
- Lead and supervise marketing and event staff, where applicable.
- Coordinate activities with internal departments and external vendors.
- Provide guidance, training, and performance management for team members.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Tourism, Hospitality, Communications, Event Management, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in marketing, event management within a related industry.
- Proven track record of successfully managing marketing campaigns and events.
- Skills:
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Digital marketing and social media management.
Strong time management, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
Highly proficient in MS Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
- IT and internet savvy.
- Self-motivated and organised.
Creative, energetic and resourceful with strategic thinking capabilities.
Able to work independently and strategically.
Work Hours: Willingness to work extended hours and weekends as needed.
