Financial Planning and Analysis Specialist

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Project Execution Finance Analyst will be responsible for managing the financial aspects of various projects for non-GSA projects. This role entails analyzing project financial performance and providing insights into supporting decision-making processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in finance, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work effectively in a challenging environment. The Project Execution Financial Analyst will collaborate closely with various teams throughout the business including Finance, Accounting, and Project Execution teams.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Financial Planning and Analysis
o Monitor financial performance against established budgets and escalate discrepancies.
o Analyze financial performance and trends to make recommendations to improve margins and reduce costs.
o Monitor project expenditures and report out trends.
o Track and report cost overruns.

Compliance and Auditing
o Ensure projects adhere to financial policies, regulations, and accounting standards.
o Assists with internal and external audits.
o Supports project closure based on internal closure guidelines.

Forecasting and Risk Management
o Identifies potential risks and opportunities and makes Project Managers and the management team aware.
o Provide monthly reporting on project financials.

QUALIFICATIONS:
o 2+ years’ financial analytical or accounting experience
o Minimum of two years of experience in financial analysis or accounting.
o Strong understanding of financial principles, budgeting, forecasting, and cost control.
o Software Proficiency (Smartsheet, Oracle, SAP, Microsoft Suite, Power Bi).
o Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
o Excellent communication and people skills.
o Ability to pull together and summarize large amounts of data into concise explanations.

EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS:
o Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting
