Floorman - US Talent
Role Summary
Borr Drilling is looking for talented professionals with Jack-Up rig experience, permanent authorization to work in the United States, and an interest in national assignments to join our growing operations in U.S. waters.To work under the direction of the Driller as necessary to support on-going rig operations, operate rig floor equipment and support systems as required. Perform general rig floor housekeeping duties and material preservation activities and ensure all work is carried out in accordance with Borr Drilling policies and procedures
Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently perform all duties assigned by the Driller or other supervisor during drilling, workover, completions and maintenance operations
- Ensure all operations are carried out in a safe and conscientious manner and responsible for correcting or notifying responsible persons of any unsafe acts and/or conditions which exist
- Actively participate in and contribute to pre-shift and Toolbox Talk meetings; Observation program, weekly or special operations safety meetings and ensure any concerns or issues are reported appropriately
- Demonstrate a personal commitment to Borr Drilling’s QHSE Management System; ensure compliance with Safe Systems of Work (SSOW), i.e. Risk Assessments etc.
- Demonstrate knowledge and utilization of Company’s Integrity Management System and ensure understanding and application of updates, changes and working instructions
- Examine and service rig floor equipment and obtain and keep ready tools, equipment and supplies for the next phase of operation
- Perform inspections and ensure the drill floor and associated areas are kept clean and that all equipment, tools and materials are stored correctly
- Assist with jacking and pre-load operations, repositioning the derrick, substructure and other related drilling equipment over the well
- Assist as directed with nipping up of diverter and installation of bell nipple and low line assembly
- Assist as directed in running pipe to drill out next casing depth
- Assist as directed with connecting running tools and equipment necessary to construct the well bore for further drilling procedures
- Assist as directed in the connection and installation of the blow out preventer (BOP)
- Assist as directed with pressure testing the BOP stack once installed
- Assist in the preparation of additional drill pipe, collar or special tools to run into hole
- Assist with retrieving the drill stem and BOP equipment and plug and abandon or complete well
- Visually inspect drill string to identify and report any washouts, excessive wear, joint or thread damage
- Carry out regular shale shaker inspections and assist with mud viscosity and weight checks at the shale shaker, maintain logs and report any discrepancies immediately to supervisor
- Assist in recording changes in drilling fluid, mud tank levels and report all deviations to Driller
- Ensure safe handling of chemicals when working around the mud hopper area
- Maintain Rotary handling equipment and inform immediate supervisor of any defects
- When required, work with casing, cementing, logging and directional crews in performing specialized operations related to down hole operations
- Examine and service rig floor equipment, obtain and keep ready tools, equipment and supplies for next phase of operations
- Utilize safety equipment as per Company policy and procedures and recognize and communicate all unsafe conditions to immediate supervisor
- Be familiar with alarm systems and emergency equipment on the rig floor and work area
- Become familiar with blowout and shut-in procedures and maintain knowledge of location of equipment and tools necessary to assist as directed in any well control situation
- In case of kick, shut-in or other well control event, remain on the rig floor to assist driller as directed
- Assist with cleaning, chipping and painting areas of the rig floor and maintain constant check on rig floor tool conditions and inventory
- Responsible for good housekeeping and ensuring drill floor is kept clean and free of all unnecessary tools and equipment
- Relieve the Derrickman as assigned in order to gain experience for promotion
- Maintain good communication with all crewmembers
- Ensure clear and comprehensive handovers are communicated to relief personnel
- Personally, achieve and maintain required standards for own training and competency requirements for job role
- Perform other duties, complete additional tasks and support ad hoc projects as required

- Offshore Medical Certificate
Experience
- Previous experience working in the capacity as a Floorman (Roughneck)
- Previous experience working on similar MODUs
- Demonstrate ability to work as part of a team and to follow directions
- Good working knowledge of rigging and lifting operations
- Effective communication skills: Fluency in written and spoken English required
