Government Affairs Manager, Brazil
Interlocutor with key government agencies closely related to Apple's businesses in Brazil at both the state and federal level, both executive and legislative.
Regularly communicate, engage, and coordinate with both U.S.-based and local industrial and trade associations, including but not limited to technology regulation, data privacy, AI, and competition.
Regularly communicate and engage directly with state and federal governments to secure government approval, policy support and changes, including but not limited to active engagement with Congress on technology regulation, data privacy, AI, competition and regulatory permits, aiming to influence policy through direct advocacy and research.
Assist the Head for Latin America Government Affairs to plan and implement the GA Brazil and Regional strategies, including bringing to bear the corporate business plan and growth strategy.
Support, align, coordinate, and work with the local Government Affairs and other Apple teams for policy, regulatory, communication, and all other necessary issues. Key interlocutor on manufacturing and sales issues.
Monitor changes in public policies, organizational structure, and decision-making processes; update the overall relationship portfolio; and identify meaningful partners and key figures.
Minimum Qualifications
15+ years of experience working in a Government Affairs position in multinational corporations, government organizations and/or trade associations in Brazil.
Proficiency in English and Portuguese.
Ability to travel up to 50% mainly within Brazil but also in Latin America and USA.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent industry experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Leadership positions in major industry associations.
Skills in communicating with government officials and internal business units.
Experience with the international tech industry, international trade, and the political landscape.
Experience developing politically diverse public affairs campaigns at the federal, state, congressional, and/or international level.
Ability to thrive in an ambiguous work environment.
Ability to influence and inspire change across multiple organizations and time zones.
Highly motivated self-starter with a passion for working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Experience in advocating for policies that support the internet ecosystem, including Data Security, Privacy, AI, Competition, Digital Governance, Economic Development, Tax, and Manufacturing.
Ability to gather insights and communicate about complex technology policy issues to policymakers and a general audience.
Ability to develop public policy proposals aimed at mitigating trade barriers and unique regulations.
Master's degree or equivalent industry experience.
Proficiency in Spanish.
