Gym Instructor/ Fitness Trainer

Job Responsibilities:

Member Assistance & Engagement

· Provide a welcoming and professional presence in the gym.

· Assist members with proper use of gym equipment and machines.

· Offer general fitness guidance and demonstrate exercises when required.

· Ensure members adhere to gym etiquette and safety guidelines.

Equipment Maintenance & Safety

· Conduct regular checks on all gym equipment to ensure they are in good working condition.

· Report any faulty or damaged equipment promptly for repair.

· Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of the gym area, including sanitization of machines and weights.

· Ensure all weight plates and accessories are properly organized and stored after use.

· Ensure safety signage, instructions, and emergency procedures are clearly displayed and followed.

· Perform basic preventive maintenance (Eg. Tightening bolts, adjusting cables) where appropriate.

· Be present and available during any servicing, inspection, or maintenance of gym equipment to ensure safety protocols are followed and to assist service personnel if required.

Class & Training Support

· Support/Conduct group class/PT Sessions as needed.

· Lead warm-up or cool-down sessions when required.

· Assist in organizing and prompting fitness programs, challenges, and events.

· Develop and lead quarterly fitness events, workshops, or challenges to boost member engagement and build a strong gym community.

Administrative Duties

· Monitor gym usage and report any concerns to management.

· Assist with updating signage, safety notices, and member communication.

· Support membership engagement efforts by gathering feedback and addressing member inquiries.

· Receive, coordinate, and delegate personal training requests to appropriate trainers based on availability and specialization.

· Assist members with all personal training -related enquiries, including packages, scheduling, and trainer information.

· Track, calculate, and prepare monthly personal training commissions for trainers, ensuring accuracy and timely reporting.

Requirements:

· Certification in Fitness Instruction or Personal Training (ACE, NASM, ISSA, or equivalent preferred)

· CPR+AED certification

· Minimum of 2 years of experience

· Independent, taking ownership and problem solving

· Have strong interest in Sports & Recreation Activities

· Good administrative and PC skills

· Good interpersonal and organizing skills

· Able to work on weekends and Public Holidays
