Job Summary
The Head of Market Management is responsible for developing and executing regional market strategies to drive sustainable growth, strengthen strategic broker and client partnerships, and enhance the organisation’s market positioning and visibility across ASEAN, South Asia, and the Middle East.
The role combines business development, distribution, strategic market engagement, brand visibility, and external relationship management to support long-term profitability and expansion across key markets and sectors.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement regional market strategies aligned with global business goals to drive sustainable growth
- Identify and evaluate growth opportunities in new territories, sectors, and client segments to expand market presence
- Lead market expansion initiatives and support entry strategies into emerging markets
- Monitor competitive landscape, regulatory changes, and market trends to inform strategic decisions
- Design and execute regional market visibility and engagement plans to enhance brand positioning
- Lead organisation representation at industry conferences, sponsorships, client events, and leadership forums
- Coordinate with media, publishers, industry associations, and external stakeholders to strengthen market communication
- Support thought leadership initiatives, market campaigns, and executive visibility to elevate brand awareness
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure consistent external messaging and brand representation
- Build and maintain strategic relationships with key brokers, clients, and partners to position HDI as a preferred insurer
- Develop and execute client and broker engagement strategies across regions to optimize distribution networks
- Drive pipeline development and revenue growth across assigned markets through targeted business development
- Support cross-selling and multi-line business opportunities by aligning with underwriting and distribution teams
- Oversee regional distribution strategy execution to maximize market coverage and profitability
- Monitor market performance against KPIs including growth, profitability, and broker engagement to ensure targets are met
- Ensure compliance with internal governance, regulatory requirements, and risk management standards
- Provide regular performance reporting and market insights to senior management for informed decision-making
Preferred competencies and qualifications
- Degree in Business, Economics, Finance, or related field
- Experience in insurance, reinsurance, brokerage, or related sectors
- Proven track record in market development, business development, or strategy roles
- Experience engaging with C-suite executives, Boards, and senior stakeholders across international markets
- Exposure to strategic partnerships, corporate development, M&A, or market expansion initiatives
- Experience leading or supporting innovation-driven initiatives including product development and new business models
- Understanding of digital distribution models, insurtech ecosystems, and technology-enabled market solutions
- Experience operating within multinational and matrix-based organisations in strategic or regional leadership roles
- Strong commercial mindset supported by data analytics, market intelligence, and performance-driven decision making
- Ability to identify emerging trends and translate them into strategic business opportunities
- Exposure to technology transformation, digital platforms, or data-led commercial initiatives within insurance or financial services
