Health Technician

About the Position: This position falls under the Defense Health Agency, Naval Medical Center Portsmouth located at the TRICARE Prime Clinic Suffolk, Virginia under the Family Medicine team performing a variety of medical and clerical support duties which facilitates the work of providers and professional nurses. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation

Perform initial screening of patients including but not limited to scrubbing of schedule, patient check in, record/report retrieval, recording vital signs and initial complaint.

Prepare patients for, and assist providers with, patient exams/procedures as required.

Complete necessary paperwork as directed.

Schedule patients' appointments per clinic routine.

Prepare examination rooms between patients, cleaning as needed, replacing used equipment/supplies, and assembling equipment /supplies for next patient.

Ensure cleanliness and stocking of provider rooms prior to start of the clinic day and at the end of the day.

Collect laboratory specimens.

Perform electrocardiograms and basic lab tests on the premises.
