Medical Technician

About the Position: This position is located at the 49TH Medical Group, Holloman Air Force Base, New Mexico This is a Direct Hire Solicitation

Conduct complex laboratory examinations and procedures in Hematology/Coagulation, Chemistry, Microbiology, Blood Bank, Urinalysis, and Diagnostic Immunology.

Maintain accurate laboratory records, files, and quality control charts for assigned sections.

Manage patient results status using the medical database system.

Conduct quality control (QC) program, and troubleshoots minor problems.

Schedule major repair and periodic maintenance of laboratory equipment.

Comply with The Joint Commission (TJC) and College of American Pathologists (CAP) standards, including participating in the CAP external proficiency program.

Ensure sound infection control practices are followed and the correct personal protective equipment is used for tasks performed.

Perform administrative activities in support of laboratory requirements.
