SUMMARY OF JOB DUTIES:

This position is a permanent position for several Agricultural and Range land projects on several surrounding Hualapai Reservation lands, including earth tank clean-out and water pipeline construction projects, as well as various other ongoing projects for the Hualapai Department of Natural Resources (HDNR).


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Must possess a CDL certification to operate heavy equipment for transport both
  • on and off reservation lands.
  • Operate all heavy equipment in a safe and appropriate manner
  • Perform daily maintenance and safety checks on equipment and department vehicles
  • Conduct pre-operational safety checks on equipment, clean, lubricate and refill the equipment fluids as necessary.
  • Maneuver heavy equipment into loading or unloading positions, and check that the vehicle position is correct and any special loading equipment is properly positioned
  • Ensure a sound understanding of environmental compliance processes of the issues involving ground disturbance
  • Use various pieces of equipment to perform sub, fine, and finish grading backfilling, demolitions, ditching, loading, excavating and stockpiling materials
  • Perform routine cleaning and maintenance reports to ensure smooth operation of the equipment
  • Work is performed in an outdoor setting, which could include inclement weather, heat, dust, humidity, cold, rain, and snow. Use of personal protective equipment is required
  • Must be responsible, dependable and self-motivated
  • Performs all other duties assigned



MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must posses a High School diploma or G.E.D.
  • Must possess a valid CDL Driver’s License and be eligible for the tribe’s insurance
  • Must submit to and pass a pre-employment drug/alcohol and random screenings
  • Must have knowledge and be able to demonstrate ability to operate heavy equipment
