For more than three decades, Plantana Condominiums has been one of Grand Cayman’s most beloved beachfront communities on Seven Mile Beach. Our friendly team takes pride in maintaining a welcoming atmosphere for returning owners and guests from around the world. We are currently seeking a dependable, service-minded Houseman to join our housekeeping and maintenance team.

Position Overview

The Houseman plays a key support role in maintaining the cleanliness, organization, and functionality of the property. Working closely with the Housekeeping and Maintenance teams, this position helps ensure that every condo and common area meets Plantana’s high standards and contributes to a memorable guest and owner experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist Housekeepers with daily departures, arrivals, and mid-week cleans (strip linens, deliver replacements, remove garbage).
• Walk the property regularly to collect trash and soiled linens; deliver to laundry.
• Help transport and organize linens between units and laundry room (10:00 a.m.–12:30 p.m. peak period).
• Support special cleaning or maintenance projects (e.g., ceiling fans, high areas, furniture).
• Assist with guest luggage and special requests (cribs, highchairs, extra linens, etc.).
• Work with Groundskeeper to keep pool/beach furniture and garbage areas tidy.
• Monitor pool and beach areas, ensuring only authorized guests are on property.
• Maintain open communication with office and coworkers via Plantana-issued phone.
• Refill beach towel carts and assist other departments as needed.
• Perform any other duties assigned by management.

Requirements

• Personable, positive attitude, and reliable attendance.
• Excellent communication and customer-service skills.
• Physically capable of lifting 50 lbs +.
• Ability to work collaboratively and follow direction.
• Well-groomed and professional in appearance.
• Prior housekeeping or maintenance experience preferred.
• Bilingual (English / Spanish) an asset.

Compensation & Benefits

• Base Pay: USD $8.50–$10.00 per hour + gratuities.
• Standard Work Week: 45 hours (up to 6 days, including Saturdays).
• Overtime: Paid 1.5× the regular hourly rate for any hours worked over 45 per week or 9 hours per day, in accordance with the Cayman Islands Labour Act.
• Public Holidays: Paid 2× the regular rate when worked.
• Health Insurance: 100 % of the employee’s premium under the
  Standard Health Insurance Contract (SHIC) plan is covered by Plantana (or reimbursed with an approved waiver up to the SHIC rate).
• Pension: 5 % employer match.
• Vacation: 2 weeks per year, increasing with tenure.
• Sick Leave: 10 days per year.
• Probation: 6 months.
• Eligibility: Caymanians, RERC holders, and Permanent Residents with the right to work only.
