We are currently seeking an HVAC Engineer to join our dynamic Custom Thermal Engineering team in Zagreb, Croatia!

This position is responsible for thermodynamic mechanical design of Air Handling Units (AHUs), with an emphasis on calculation and selection of fans, filters, heat exchangers, compressors, evaporators, condensers, Direct Expansion (DX) & Chilled Water (CW) piping, and other components used in refrigeration circuits. It is preferable to possess knowledge of commonly used refrigerants and the current EU legislation to control F-gases, as well as knowledge of Evaporative Cooling systems.

What kind of work will you be doing?

• Design thermal / HVAC solutions for custom AHU units
• Prepare and optimize selections of AHU components (fans, coils, valves, etc.)
• Perform thermodynamic calculations - cooling capacity, power consumption, pressure drop calculations
• Prepare technical datasheets and submittals for new AHU units
• Create P&ID drawings of chilled water / refrigeration piping
• Support Sales teams with technical details, equipment selections and cost estimations
• Support Manufacturing teams during production of AHU units
• Work on tasks inside multidisciplinary team of people (Mechanical, Thermal, Electrical engineers)
• Create and / or check Bills of Materials (BOMs)
• Support design inspection audits and Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT)
• Communicate with equipment suppliers

Qualifications:

• At least 3 years of previous working experience on similar job description (HVAC Design Engineer / Refrigeration Design Engineer)
• Masters in Mechanical Engineering required
• Thermal/Process Engineering specialization preferred
• Excellent listening, verbal and written communication skills (English and Croatian required)
• Excellent knowledge of processes with humid air (Mollier diagram) required
• Good understanding of thermal products (air handling units, piping and refrigeration systems, etc.) required
• Familiarity with AutoCAD and MS Office tools (Excel) preferred
• Accuracy in work, results-oriented mindset, professional demeanor in all tasks
• English minimum B2 level
